thank you ,, my Garrett 5x8 wire by the coil was messed up ,, this one seems to be thicker and more stable ,, used it only 2 times but it worked great ,, went to CT AND detected thank you

Colonial is a solid company

Love my new NEL Sharpshooter. Works well on my ETrac. Great target separation and pretty good depth. Bought a Thunder coil as well. Jury is still out, but good depth and target separation. As good as could be expected from this size of coil. Rich is good peoples and wouldn’t hesitate one second about buying a new machine from him in the future.

Excellent coil! Buy It

If you are on the fence about whether to go with the 5x8 or this coil, get the sharpshooter. I have the 5x8 and have used it extensively for months but i wanted to see if the Nel really was the same or better so I bought one. After using the Nel in the woods and the fields I can easily tell that is better and I have sold my 5x8. Things you should know that I am not a fan of but i've learned to deal with. This coil will hit rusty old nails hard and they sound amazing. (something that didn't happen with the 5x8) They will always ring up in the mid 90's though so i sometimes dont dig those super high numbers now. The coil is very light and goes deep. no problem in NY getting 8 inches on coin shaped objects. separation is amazing as you would expect. After reading the reviews and purchasing one myself I'm glad I did and you will be too. The 5x8 is a great coil but in my opinion this coil edges it out in depth and performance. Plus it comes with a cover!

Preferred over stock coil

I've used this coil a handful of times and it works very well. I've been focusing on a wooded area so the coil size is great for scanning tight places. The coil is lighter than stock so arm fatigue is less likely for some people. So far I pulled 1889 Indian Head Cent, 1912 Wheat Penny, 1920 Mercury Dime, a small Native American toy figure, and a PA National Guard Collar Disc. I run my AT Pro at max sensitivity in Pro Zero mode. I'm confident I made the right decision purchasing this coil.

Extremely Happy

I have spent a lot of time looking for a smaller coil for the AT Pro. As we were detecting in areas where there was a fair amount of trash. I felt I needed a coil 5 x 8 or there about. In the research process I watched a lot of YouTube videos, looked at a lot of websites. I narrowed it down to the NEL Sharpshooter 5.5 x 9.5 and the 5 x 8 coil from Garrett. The price of both coils were close.; however the NEL coil had the advantage of coming with a coil cover for no additional cost. I decided to go with that coil. To my dismay no one had them in stock I spoke to Rich from Colonial Metal Detectors, solid guy. He told me he was expecting a shipment with in a week or two, so I put my name on the waiting list. I got an email with in 7 days informing me that the coil had arrived. After payment I had my coil in 2 days. Supper fast shipping wow and great service. I have used the coil for several months in Old mining towns, parks, old home sites and many other places. I am extremely happy with the coil and the service from Rich at Colonial Metal Detectors. It's like a whole new machine.

The coil arrived next day in a specifically made box for the nel coil. It was packaged very securely. After taking my At pro to a soccer field for testing the first thing I noticed was how strong the coil felt. It did not feel flimsy or like it would break at all. It was made to last. The coil cover is not like the stock covers it is secured tightly and made also very well. Within a few minutes of using the coil i could tell i had a great coil. The beeps were consistent, the vdi #'s were steady & didn't fluctuate nearly as much as the stock coil. The separation also was far more accurate. The depth was also surprisingly impressive for a smaller coil. I didn't notice much of a loss over the stock coil. I was able to pick up tiny thin pieces of aluminum at 8 inches. I was eager to find out if this coil was better than my brothers 5x8 that i contipated buying and more than once the NEL coil was able to pick up targets the 5x8 missed on several different targets with decent depths. Its like a whole new machine. Im more than happy with my purchase & now im looking to see what the bigger NEL coils can do.
